The wine of the Royal House of Romania, treated with dolomite from the root

In Dobrogea, in Măcini, we find the producers of the wine that fills the cup of the members of the Royal House of Romania. The Royal Court is one of the official providers of the Royal House of Romania, putting all their products at the disposal of the Royal Family. From the wide variety of wines, the star is Aligoté, a white wine, without perfume nor sweetness. This wine is Her Royal Highness, Margareta of Romania’s, favourite.
“We’ve been official providers of the Royal House since the fall of 2011. We participate in the events organized by the Royal House with our wines, and the tourists who visit us can taste the quality wines, including the variety specific to this area, the MăciniAligoté”, Dan Jalea, oenologist, said. Every fall, over 2,000 bottles of wine leave Măcini for various destinations, places where Romania’s fame is taken by quality wines.
“The Aligoté is a dry wine, typical of the SaricalNiculiţel vineyard, with a moderate alcohol concentration, of 12.2%, with reducing sugars of 1.5-2 g/liter, it is a pleasant wine, unaggressive, easily drinkable, which goes well with fish dishes, especially fatty fish. It’s a variety meant to be next to the Danube, the land of the fish. This wine is Her Royal Highness, Margareta of Romania’s, favourite”, MădălinaStaicu, chemist engineer at the Royal Court stated.
“We used a natural fertilizer, the Delniţa amorphous dolomite. We used 2,000 kg/ha, with exceptional results. It is a natural fertilizer based on calcium and magnesium. We didn’t use it on a few hectares, and the difference is noticeable. The grapes are much smaller than those we did use it on. Next year, no doubt about it, we’ll use dolomite on all our surface. This year was the first one when we only used dolomite, without adding any chemical fertilizers”, ChirilăValodea, the person in charge with the health of the vineyards producing the wines drunk by the Royal Family, declared. He says that only the quality of the wine takes the fame of the Vineyard further. “We sell a liter purchased in bulk for 6-7 ron, but it reaches the shelves of the stores at 10-11 ron. These are quality wines, appreciated by the customers, and the retailers know this, setting their prices as a result”, the vine grower added.
